My name is Andrew Birkel and I am an experimental physicist who enjoys figuring out how things work, repairing/refurbishing the old, and building the new.
I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2012 with a B.S. in Applied Physics with a concentration in Electronic and Optoelectronics. My scientific background is in both semiconductor physics and experimental plasma physics with a focus on instrumentation for ICF experiments. You can find more about the research I worked on Here
I currently work at MIT in the Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE), and have been proudly working at MIT since 2012. A rarity in this day and age, but I find you can't put a price on the community you live and work in. And there is no place quite like MIT!
